Part time: 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday 13:15 - 17:15pm)

The University Of The West of Scotland Sport department has an exciting opportunity for a part-time role in the post of Sport Operations Assistant based at our Lanarkshire Campus.

The postholder will support the operational delivery of sports facilities and service activities. You will be responsible for maintaining effective communication with the Sport Operations Manager and Sport Operations Co-ordinator. This role involves a pro-active approach to assisting in the development and delivery of sports services which will positively impact on the student and staff experience and wellbeing. You will be responsible for delivering gym inductions, small group fitness sessions, creating tailored fitness programmes, a range of administration duties, and cleaning and maintenance tasks.

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • HNC qualification in a relevant field, equivalent experience, and possess a Gym Instructor qualification
  • An understanding of sports, leisure and recreation and the associated user groups
  • Be able to discuss knowledge and demonstrate understanding and awareness of basic health and fitness issues and factors which can impact on these
  • Basic computer literacy/IT skills and ability to use a specialist software package relevant to the job (training to be provided where required)
  • Experience of working in a customer focussed role
  • Commitment to delivering high quality service and supporting an outstanding user experience

You will enjoy working as part of a team, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload. With drive, enthusiasm and tenacity you will be accustomed to operating within a busy environment.
