Assistant Accountant- Accountancy Practice- West Belfast

Reed Recruitment is delighted to be working with a local Accountancy Practice based in West Belfast.

Our client is seeking to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant to join the team on a part-time, permanent basis.

This position is offering 24 hours per week and a starting salary of £38,000 per annum pro rata.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, preparing accounts, handling tax returns and providing day-to-day financial advice and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
• Complete VAT returns and manages bookkeeping tasks
•  Prepare and file personal and corporate tax returns
• Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients
•  Provide financial advice and support to clients
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
•  Assist with payroll processing and CIS returns (if applicable)
• Support the practice with ad hoc financial tasks and client queries

Requirements

• AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/ACA (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice
•  Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
•  Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•  Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
