The starting salary for this position is £16,256 per annum based on an 18 hour working week, pro-rata to £32,512.

About the Role
Family Learning is an integral part of Surrey Adult Learning which offers an inclusive range of learning opportunities to meet both local needs and government priorities. You will develop an ambitious and outcome focussed programme to equip parents and carers to support children's learning through an exciting and relevant curriculum of inter-generational and adult only courses. You will provide information, advice and guidance to encourage parents and carers to pursue further learning and seek opportunities for progression to accreditation.
You will join another dedicated Lead Tutor and be responsible for designing and delivering a high quality structured teaching programme to directly meet learners' needs for each course you teach. Our courses include 'How to be Awesome at Maths", "Reading for Wellbeing" and "Understanding Education in England". A full programme of courses is available on our website (provide link).
As a Lead Tutor you will primarily lead the family learning programme for English, Maths and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). You will develop specialist resources for these courses and support and mentor improvements for other Tutors in your curriculum area. You will assess learners' starting points, set appropriate learning objectives and review and assess progress.
You will also attend events to promote the programme and to build relationships with schools and family centres.
