Are you passionate about helping students to unlock their full potential in both Maths and English Functional Skills, on a part time basis? If so, this is the job for you!
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Functional Skills Lecturer to join our team. You will teach both maths and English Functional Skills from Entry Level 1 up to Level 2, helping students of all backgrounds and abilities to build confidence and make progress in their studies. Lessons will be delivered both face-to-face and online, using accessible and engaging approaches to support learning. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on learners’ futures, particularly those who may have previously struggled with English and maths.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
You will plan and deliver high-quality lessons that support learners in developing the skills they need to succeed both in college and beyond. A range of teaching approaches will be used to keep students motivated, including group work, one-to-one support, practical activities, and digital learning where appropriate. Lessons will take place both in the classroom and online, using platforms such as Microsoft Teams, depending on the needs of the students and the timetable.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone with a strong subject background in maths and/or English, and a genuine commitment to helping students succeed. You will hold a level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, and be willing to work towards a full teaching qualification if not already held. We offer a fully funded Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher Apprenticeship, plus other alternative options.
