We are working with a well-established and respected client based in the Thirsk area. They are a dynamic SME operating in the rural and agricultural sector, committed to driving sustainable growth and innovation across the region. With a strong foundation in rural values and a forward-looking approach, they are seeking someone who shares their passion for agriculture, community, and progress.

They are looking for someone on a part time basis. They can guarantee 2 days a week, plus additional hours per month that will vary depending on the workload and peoples holidays. There is lots of flexibility on how these hours can be worked, whether it is in two full days, or spread across the week.

Responsibilities can include, but are not limited to:

• Sales/purchase ledger processing
• Bank reconciliations
• VAT returns
• Maintain asset register, additions, disposals, asset verification, depreciation, reconciliations
• Process payroll for seasonal staff (payroll training will be given if necessary)
• Preparation of monthly reporting packs
• Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Cost analysis for department managers
• Prepare a weekly cash flow for one business
• Assist with preparation of budgets
• Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts
• Some journal posting/nominal ledger work

Required skills:

Our client is looking for someone with the right mixture of general accounts experience and technical ability (AAT L4 or equivalent in experience) although personality and 'team fit’ will be just as important.

• Good knowledge of MS Excel
• VAT knowledge
• Sage 50 experience
• Management Accounts production
