Leeds City Council is actively seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as Children’s Residential Support Workers. Day-to-day of the role:
Work under the guidance of the Registered Manager, Senior Staff, and Care Officers to provide high-standard care tailored to the individual social and emotional needs of children and young people.
Build and maintain positive relationships with children and young people, addressing their physical care and behavioural management needs.
Engage children in a variety of activities, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment that promotes their development.
Participate in planning and executing daily activities, special celebrations, festivals, outings, and physical activities.
Support educational needs, encourage aspirations, and assist in managing behaviour through assertive, restorative, and positive methods.
Perform domestic duties to maintain high standards within the home, manage administrative tasks, and ensure compliance with council policies and health and safety regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
A strong passion for working with children and young people.
Ability to engage positively with challenging behaviour and provide supportive care.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including proficiency in electronic record systems.
Willingness to undergo training and develop necessary skills for the role.
Flexibility to work on a shift basis, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, bank holidays, and potential overnight shifts.
Benefits:
Competitive sleep-in rate of £36.08 per shift.
Night enhancement (time and a third after 10pm) and 50% weekend enhancement rate (time and a half).
Typical earnings between £29,817 - £32,419.
