Skills Coach/Assessor – Early Years [Ref: WC3888]

Pro rata of £26,716 - £29,196 per annum (I.e. £16,029.60 - £17,517.60)

22.2 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Are you an experienced and passionate Childcare or Early Years professional looking to share your skills with the next generation of teachers, nursery nurses and child carers?

Worthing College is looking for an Assessor in Early Years and Childcare to join our team and help share our students’ future careers by supporting the development of employability skills and vocational competence.

As our Early Years Assessor, you will visit students on placement and assess their progress and performance. You will also liaise with relevant employers as part of the assessment for the Level 2 and T level programmes and undertake a range of duties that support the successful running of Early Years work placements.

As our Early Years Assessor, you’ll ideally have:

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths
  • A relevant professional qualification at Level 3 or above - Diploma in Childcare and Education, Level 3 NVQ in Early Years, Care and Education, Children and Young People’s Workforce, NNEB
  • Experience of working with students and assessing vocational practice
  • Skills in assessing the progress of students
  • Knowledge of Child Care/Early Years programmes and the qualification framework
  • Knowledge of the kind of skills and personal qualities needed by students for the employment sector/organisations for which they are being prepared
