Job Introduction
Female Support Worker
You’ll be joining a team supporting a women with cerebral palsy, arthrogryposis (stiff joints), restricted lung capacity due to scoliosis and kyphosis, and who lives with a tracheostomy and uses a ventilator to support breathing. They also have a PEG for nutritional needs.
Driver required – you will need to drive the person’s own vehicle as part of the role so will need to hold a full UK license.
They are a huge Liverpool FC and Warrington Wolves supporter, enjoys watching TV, listening to music, and having a good pamper session. They value friendly, thoughtful conversations, especially when it's about the things they love.
Being approached gently, from the front or right side, is important to their comfort, and having company while they settle to sleep is something they appreciate. The person we support communicates non-verbally but expresses themselves clearly through laughter, crying, and smiling. You’ll soon get to know their likes and dislikes.
Pay rate: Monday - Friday day £12.36 per hour, Saturday and Sunday day £12.93 per hour, Monday - Friday night £12.93 per hour & Saturday and Sunday night £14.93 per hour.
Shift Pattern: 24 hours per week over day and night shifts - 2:1 - 8:00am - 20:00pm and 1:1 - 20:00pm - 8:00am.
About the role:
This is a clinical support role where you’ll receive training and guidance to safely and respectfully assist with the daily and medical needs. These include:
Tracheostomy care
PEG (gastrostomy) support
Ventilator monitoring and management
Mobility and personal care
