Are you a hands-on, proactive individual with a background in maintenance or trades and labour? We’re looking for a School Caretaker to join a welcoming and supportive school in Peterborough (PE1).

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day maintenance and safety of the school premises—playing a key role in creating a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for pupils and staff.

• Carrying out general repairs and maintenance around the school
• Coordinating and overseeing external contractors when needed
• Conducting regular site checks and ensuring all areas are safe and secure
• Understanding and following risk assessments and safety procedures
• Operating and maintaining tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Supporting with setting up rooms and site preparation for events or activities

• Previous experience in trades, building maintenance, or site management
• Confident in working with tools and handling minor repairs
• Able to understand and follow risk assessments and health & safety guidelines
• Strong communication skills and able to liaise effectively with external contractors
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
