We are hiring an assistant accountant to join a successful and ambitious business on a part-time basis. The role

You will work closely with the Finance Director, taking ownership of day-to-day finance operations. This is a hands-on and varied position where your responsibilities will span across the breadth of the internal accounting function — from bookkeeping and payments through to month end reporting, compliance and ad hoc financial support.

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, processing payments and invoices, reconciling accounts and supporting the wider month-end and quarter-end processes.

What you’ll be doing

• Managing daily bookkeeping and financial transactions
• Processing supplier invoices and assisting with payment runs
• Reconciling bank accounts and intercompany balances
• Supporting internal reporting and assisting with payroll
• Preparing VAT returns and supporting compliance and audit activity
• Helping to deliver month-end and quarter-end reports

About You

Applications are welcome from AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA / CIMA, experienced Qualified Accountants or QBE's. They key is that you will enjoy working within a small but highly motivated)and very professional team. You will thrive in a role that offers lots of variety and ideally have a good working knowledge of Xero. If you have worked across multiple entities or in a group environment, and have exposure to intercompany transactions that is advantageous. 

You should be detail-oriented, self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team. Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

The package

• £40,000 to £45,000 full-time equivalent (pro-rated for 4 days/week)
• Hybrid working 
• 25 days holiday (pro-rated)
