Bookkeeper Part Time

Job Purpose:

To maintain accurate financial records and ensure the smooth operation of accounting functions within a manufacturing environment. The bookkeeper will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, supporting month-end processes, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations.

Hours of work:

20 hours per week - one day per week office based

Key Responsibilities:
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Process supplier invoices, payments, and employee expenses.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support inventory accounting and cost tracking.
  • Generate financial reports and summaries for management.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with external accountants or auditors as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or ERP systems like SAP).
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
