Finance Manager

Our client, a leading manufacturer and distributor of cleaning and hygiene products, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join their team. As part of a close-knit team in a small dynamic company, the Finance Manager will oversee the day-to-day financial operations, manage a small finance team and work closely with senior management to provide financial insights, maintain robust controls and support key decision-making.

The responsibilities of the Finance Manager include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare and manage monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
  • Oversee the day-to-day finance operations including purchase/sales ledger, bank reconciliations and payroll.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital, ensuring timely payments and credit control.
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors to support year-end reporting and compliance.
  • Develop and improve financial systems, controls and reporting processes suited to a small business.

Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes of the Finance Manager:

  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager, or similar, in a small or medium-sized business.
  • Comfortable in a hands-on role, managing both operational tasks and strategic input.
  • Strong understanding of core accounting functions, cash flow management and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
