House Solicitor

Position: Housing Solicitor / Legal Executive
Location: Central London
Salary: £57,781 – £60,822 (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days office-based

Overview

My client is seeking a skilled and motivated Housing Solicitor or Legal Executive on behalf of a prominent housing provider based in central London. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with a strong background in housing law to join a collaborative and high-performing in-house legal team.

Role Summary

The appointed candidate will be responsible for delivering expert legal advice and representation on a wide range of tenancy and leasehold management matters. This includes handling possession proceedings, disrepair claims, anti-social behaviour cases, and service charge disputes. The role also involves advocacy in court and tribunal settings, as well as contributing to internal policy development and legal training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive legal advice to housing and property teams.
  • Representing the organisation in County and Magistrates’ Courts and Residential Property Tribunals.
  • Drafting and reviewing housing management policies and legal documentation.
  • Preparing and delivering legal training sessions to internal staff.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives (FILEX).
  • Significant post-qualification experience in housing law, ideally within a social landlord, local authority, or in-house legal team.
  • In-depth knowledge of housing and leasehold legislation, case law, and litigation procedures.
  • Strong advocacy, communication, and problem-solving skills.
