Behaviour Mentor

Engage education are currently seeking experienced behaviour mentor to work at an SEMH all boys school in Wandsworth.

The school provides education for boys ages 5 to 19 with Social, emotional and mental health needs. The aim is to provide students with consistent support nurturing their educational and emotional wellbeing. They promote independence and create empathetic and ambitious young adults.

As a behaviour Mentor you will work 1:1 with pupils as well as supporting them in the classroom. You will need to be ready for a challenge and have a passion for seeing students succeed.

The ideal applicant will be:

  • Experienced in working with SEN and SEMH
  • Be confident in managing challenging behaviour
  • you will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same in a Special School, so being prepared is vital.
  • Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential

Your role

  • Work 1:1 with students as well as providing classroom support
  • Support both pupils and families
  • Deliver learning activities
  • Provide objective feedback on learner achievement and progress
  • Manage behaviour in a way that promotes self control and independence
