Job Title: Finance Officer
Hours: Part Time (3 days per week)
Salary: £38,000-£40,000 FTE
Location: Gloucestershire

Robert Half is partnering with a national charity to recruit a Finance Officer on a permanent, part-time basis. Based in Gloucestershire, you'll support the Head of Finance by producing monthly management accounts, monitoring budgets, and preparing for audits and statutory reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Transactional Finance:

• Oversight of Finance Assistant's work
• Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset register
• Manage payroll and approval workflows

Reporting:

• Produce monthly management accounts and internal reports
• Prepare VAT returns and statutory submissions
• Create financial reports for funders and external stakeholders

General Tasks:

• Support ad hoc projects and respond to financial queries
• Present financial data clearly to non-financial staff
• Review and improve internal finance processes
• Help the team meet KPIs and performance targets

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• ACA, ACCA, AAT, or CIMA (qualified or part-qualified)
• Experience in management accounting
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office
• Strong understanding of HMRC and VAT regulations
• Ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment

Desirable:

• Charity or not-for-profit sector experience
• Familiarity with SORP, charity reserves, and VAT partial exemption
• Experience with Dext Prepare and Approval Max
