Financial Controller

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to join a well-established SME operating within the property management and land development sector. This part-time role offers the chance to play a key role in the strategic and operational direction of the business, working closely with the Managing Director.

The business is seeking a commercially astute and technically strong Financial Controller to join their leadership team on a part-time basis. This is a key appointment, acting as a strategic partner to the Managing Director and playing a central role in the continued growth and operational excellence of the organisation.

The Role

As Financial Controller, you will assume full responsibility for the finance function, ensuring robust financial governance while providing strategic insight to support business decision-making. Your expertise in property-related finance, particularly in managing large-scale fixed asset registers and service charge reconciliations, will be critical to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Full ownership of the finance function, reporting directly to the Managing Director

Preparation and review of monthly management accounts and board reporting packs

Cash flow forecasting and development of three-year financial plans

Annual budgeting and reforecasting

Oversight and reconciliation of service charge budgets and charge-out registers

Maintenance and control of complex fixed asset registers, primarily property-related

Supporting insurance reviews and renewals

Liaising with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, accountants, and solicitors

Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements

Day-to-day financial operations and corporate administration

Utilisation of SAP for financial reporting and asset management (highly desirable)

About You:

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)

Demonstrable experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role within the property sector

Strong technical accounting skills, particularly in fixed asset accounting and service charge management

Proficient in SAP and comfortable navigating complex financial systems

Commercially minded with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Self-motivated, hands-on, and capable of working autonomously in an SME environment
