We are currently recruiting on behalf of a scale-up Fintech for an Accounts Assistant to join their team to facilitate the smooth running of their core financial processes. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close, and assisting with audit preparation. Over time, there is potential for the role to expand into broader financial and operational reporting responsibilities
This is a permanent position, with both full and part time working arrangements considered. Our client offers flexible hybrid working and the salary is £35,000 - £55,000 dependant on experience Benefits.
Accounts Assistant duties and responsibilities:
Process supplier invoices and manage bill payments.
Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash records.
Prepare and post basic accounting journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and deferred income.
Support the month-end close process and assist with the preparation of management accounts.
Assist with annual audit preparation and respond to auditor queries.
Maintain financial documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls.
Collaborate with the wider team to support ad hoc finance and reporting tasks.
Over time, contribute to company-wide metrics and management reporting.
Accounts Assistant key skills and experience required:
A dependable, results-driven and hands-on individual.
Experience of working through the full accounting lifecycle.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of invoicing, accruals, pre-payments, bank reconciliations and journaling.
Proven experience in supporting the month-end close process and assisting with the preparation of management accounts.
Proficient in using Xero.
Logical mindset, with a high attention to detail.
Team orientated individual, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
