Part Time Receptionist

Your new company

They are currently seeking a friendly and professional part-time receptionist to join our team at the Head Office and Business Support Centre. This opportunity has arisen due to the retirement of our long-standing receptionist after over six years of dedicated service. The ideal candidate will be available to work Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays, and Fridays, with flexibility to provide additional cover during staff holidays or periods of absence.

Your new role

The main responsibilities of this role include greeting and assisting visitors in a professional and welcoming manner, handling incoming phone calls efficiently, and carrying out general administrative tasks such as filing and document management. The role also involves preparing meeting rooms ahead of scheduled events to ensure they are clean, organised, and fully equipped. In addition to these core duties, the successful candidate will support the wider team with various ad hoc tasks to help maintain the smooth operation of the business. During quieter periods at the reception desk, there may be opportunities to assist colleagues in the Finance and Property teams, ensuring continued productivity and collaboration across departments.

What you'll need to succeed

Our receptionists serve as the first point of contact for visitors, so it's essential that they are well-presented, approachable, and confident in representing our business. To succeed, one must combine excellent communication skills with a warm, professional demeanour. Being the first point of contact, a receptionist sets the tone for the entire organisation, so a friendly attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with office technology help ensure smooth daily operations. Additionally, a successful receptionist is adaptable, able to juggle multiple tasks, and quick to respond to changing priorities, all while maintaining confidentiality and a welcoming environment for visitors and staff alike.

What you'll get in return

They pride themselves on fostering a strong team spirit and creating a workplace that their employees enjoy. They offer modern open-plan offices, quarterly social events, up to 13% staff discount in-store, a healthcare plan, a company pension, and a supportive working culture. Over time, our new receptionist will be expected to build familiarity with colleagues and regular callers, and develop the ability to efficiently screen out sales and spam calls.
