We are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a highly regarded educational institution in Sheffield. Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Support students with SEND or SEMH in their daily school activities, ensuring they engage in their learning and achieve their potential.
  • Work closely with teachers to tailor education plans that meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Employ specialised communication techniques such as Makaton to aid student interaction and understanding.
  • Assist in the physical management of students using approved techniques if certified (e.g., Team Teach, PRICE, moving and handling).
  • Monitor and support the students' social and emotional well-being.
  • Facilitate small group activities and one-to-one support sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and any incidents that occur.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role.
  • Experience working with students with SEND or SEMH.
  • Certifications in Team Teach, PRICE, Makaton, moving and handling, or similar, are highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with additional needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
