MLD Teaching Assistant (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs? A welcoming and inclusive special school in Doncaster is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team.

This school caters to pupils from Year 1 to Year 14, supporting a wide range of moderate learning difficulties and associated needs. The school is structured to reflect mainstream models:

  • Lower School (KS1 & KS2) follows a primary model
  • Upper School (KS3 & KS4) mirrors a secondary setting
  • Post-16 (KS5) focuses on independence and employability
Your Role Will Include:
  • Providing tailored support to pupils with cognition and learning needs
  • Assisting in the delivery of differentiated lessons and activities
  • Supporting pupils with social communication difficulties and emotional regulation
  • Helping implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Promoting independence and life skills, especially in Post-16 settings
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (essential)
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) is desirable
  • Willingness to undertake training (e.g., Team Teach, Moving & Handling)
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one)
