Practice Accountant

The Role

This role is ideal for an experienced practice accountant who enjoys getting into the detail of transactional preparation work. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of client financial records, supporting smooth year-end processes, and contributing to the firm’s reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process transactional accounting data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
  

• Maintain and reconcile ledgers, including accounts payable and receivable
  

• Assist with bank reconciliations and the preparation of trial balances
  

• Support in drafting management accounts and assisting with year-end preparation
  

• Liaise with clients to gather and clarify information as required
  

• Work closely with senior accountants and managers to ensure deadlines are met
  

• Maintain high standards of documentation and record-keeping for audit purposes
  

About You

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential
  

• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  

• Proficient in accounting software (experience with Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage is desirable)
  

• Good understanding of transactional accounting processes
  

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  

• Ability to work collaboratively in a friendly, team-oriented environment
