  • Hours: 15 hours over 3 days per week with flexibility
  • Location: Primarily remote with occasional travel to London and Cambridge

Reed Business support is working with a pioneering biotech company and they are looking for an HR & Payroll Coordinator. This role offers the chance to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to developing treatments for rare neurological disorders. They are looking for a seasoned professional with a solid background in HR processes and payroll management who can operate independently and handle a variety of tasks with minimal supervision.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Organise and maintain accurate HR records in SharePoint and HRIS.
  • Maintain and revise company policies to comply with employment legislation.
  • Manage relationships with their Employer of Record for international employees.
  • Support payroll processing, ensuring accurate data uploads to external payroll providers.
  • Administer the company pension scheme, occupational health, and employee benefits.
  • Handle low-level HR cases and escalate complex matters as necessary.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews and preparing employment contracts.
  • Manage employee lifecycle tasks such as onboarding, offboarding, and processing expense approvals.
  • Respond to HR queries and provide advice on policies and procedures.
  • Oversee HR reporting and provide advice to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Coordinate UK visa and immigration requirements.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in an HR role, ideally within a start-up or small company environment.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles and employment legislation.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Experience with HR systems such as Workable, Dext, and CharlieHR.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and a commitment to supporting the team.
  • Must be a UK citizen to manage specific regulatory requirements.
