Financial Controller (Part-Time, Hybrid – Nottingham Hub)
We’re recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a fast-growing international consumer brand. Here’s what you need to know up front:
Part-time: 3–4 days per week
Location: Likely hybrid, around 3 days per week at the Nottingham hub (currently remote until established)
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 (flexible based on experience)
Qualification: ACA or ACCA (or equivalent) essential
This role is a great fit for a qualified accountant who enjoys working in entrepreneurial, fast-paced environments. U.S. accounting experience (audit or policy) would be a distinct advantage.
The Business
This is an ambitious scale-up brand operating on a global stage. With revenues of around £9 million and growth plans to reach £25 million this year and £35 million moving forward, it’s an exciting time to join. The company employs around 30 people worldwide, with teams spanning the U.S., UK and beyond, and will shortly be establishing a hub in Nottingham to support its UK presence.
The Role
As Financial Controller, you’ll be working closely with the CFO, who currently has a broad remit covering finance, HR, legal and tech. Your appointment will allow them to focus on strategy while you take ownership of day-to-day finance operations. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a growing, evolving environment where processes are still being developed.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the month-end close process, including P&L, balance sheet and consolidations
Overseeing financial controls, AP/AR, supplier payments and 3-way matching
Reviewing and ensuring compliance with U.S. sales tax requirements
Maintaining channel P&Ls and partnering with channel owners to provide finance business partnering support
Supporting an ERP migration from QuickBooks to NetSuite
Managing relationships with outsourced finance teams in the U.S. and U.K.
Contributing to projects aimed at scaling and streamlining group-wide processes
The Person
We’re keen to speak with qualified accountants (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) who are confident working independently and comfortable within a small but globally dispersed team. This is not a role with layers of structure—it’s about rolling up your sleeves, solving problems, and building robust processes that will support growth.
Interview Process
The process will involve 2–3 stages, including a final conversation with the CEO.
