Part Time HR and H&S Manager

We are currently working with a growing and forward-thinking organisation in Derby who are looking to recruit a part time HR and H&S Manager to their team. Reporting into the Operations Director this role will be responsible for proactively supporting the business with all HR policies and procedures and ensure all H&S guidelines are kept up to date as per government guidelines.

Applicants will ideally be working towards a CIPD qualification or fully qualified and have previous experience of assisting an organisation with disciplinaries, grievances and all HR related matters along with implementing HR policies and procedures including Absences, training, and recruitment. Experience of also dealing with Health and Safety policies and procedures across the business would be an advantage but is not essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the business's goals, such as talent management and workforce planning.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from writing job descriptions to interviewing, and implement effective onboarding programs for new employees.
  • Handle complex issues like grievances, disciplinary actions, and performance management, providing advice and support to both employees and managers.
  • Identify training needs and oversee the implementation of training programs to develop employees and a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure all HR policies and practices adhere to current employment laws and regulations.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and engaging work environment throughout the organisation.
  • Prepare and present HR reports to senior management, using data and metrics to support decision-making
  • Develop, maintain, and implement H&S policies and strategies, aligning them with business goals and legal requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify hazards and implement effective controls.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implement corrective actions, and maintain detailed records.
  • Ensure the operation complies with all relevant H&S legislation and industry standards.
  • Train employees on H&S best practices, promote a positive safety culture, and coordinate emergency procedures.
  • Measure and report on H&S performance, using data to drive continual improvements and action plans
