Minibus Driver

A professional and reliable Minibus Driver is required to support a busy independent school in Cambridge. The role involves transporting pupils safely between designated pick-up and drop-off points in the afternoons (3.30pm–6.00pm), during term time only. There may also be occasional extra hours for school trips, fixtures, or additional transport needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Safe and punctual transport of pupils
• Completing registers and maintaining safeguarding protocols
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting issues
• Ensuring compliance with road safety, school policies, and legal requirements
• Acting as a courteous and responsible representative to pupils, staff, and parents

Requirements:

• Full, clean UK driving licence (D1 entitlement an advantage)
• MiDAS and Paediatric First Aid qualifications (or willingness to train)
• Experience driving minibuses or transporting children preferred
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a high level of responsibility
• Enhanced DBS check required (to be arranged by the school)

Hours: 12.5 hours per week, term time only, with an additional 15 hours per year for training and meetings. Opportunities may be available for extra duties as Minibus Co-ordinator.

Salary: £6,410 per annum (pro rata of £25,382 FTE), paid monthly. Pension, death in service, and other staff benefits included.
