Care Home Cook

Location: Burnley

Salary: £12.90 per hour benefits

Hours: 25.5 per week (9am to 6pm Thurs,Fri,Sat)

Reports to: House Manager

Rotherwood Cares are looking for a dedicated Cook to join our team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals that our residents will enjoy. If you are passionate about preparing food that makes a difference in people’s lives, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare, cook, and serve up to two meals a day, tailored to residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
• Ensure the kitchen is kept clean, safe, and well-organised at all times.
• Maintain stock rotation, safe food storage, and hygiene standards.
• Support social functions at the house when required.
• Complete daily paperwork, including temperature checks, cleaning rotas, and menu records.

What we’re looking for:

Essential:

• Experience of cooking for groups of people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good reading and writing skills.
• Ability to work well within a team.
• Understanding of the needs of older people.
• Commitment to high standards of food preparation and hygiene.
• Flexibility to attend training and provide staff cover when required.

Desirable:

• First Aid Certificate.
• Food Hygiene Certificate.
