Grants Manager

We are seeking a Grant Manager to play a pivotal role in the effective delivery of our organisation’s funding programmes. This position is ideal for a highly organised and thoughtful individual who is passionate about supporting education and youth-focused work through high-quality, evidence-informed grant-making.

Day-to-day of the role:

  1. Grant Administration & Programme Delivery

    • Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of grant programmes across various streams.
    • Manage application processes, including responding to enquiries, logging submissions, and supporting panel arrangements.
    • Support grant decision-making by preparing summaries, due diligence materials, and recommendations.
    • Monitor timelines and support smooth delivery of each grant round.
  2. Grantee Support & Relationship Management

    • Act as the key point of contact for a portfolio of grantees, offering guidance and support throughout their funding lifecycle.
    • Schedule and facilitate check-ins and progress reviews with grantees.
    • Help identify areas where additional support or connection to wider networks would be beneficial.
  3. Monitoring, Reporting & Impact

    • Track reporting deadlines and review submitted progress and final reports.
    • Maintain up-to-date records and ensure documentation is stored accurately.
    • Support the development of dashboards, summaries, and learning outputs from grant activity.
    • Contribute to internal evaluation and reflection processes to improve future grant-making.
  4. Continuous Improvement & Learning

    • Identify and implement improvements to systems and processes based on feedback and insight.
    • Support learning events, peer sharing, and wider sector engagement around funded projects.
    • Feed insights and trends into broader strategy discussions with the Head of Education and wider team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience managing or supporting grant programmes within a charitable, education, or funding organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing reports, summaries, or recommendations.
  • Ability to build supportive, professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Confident using systems to track, manage, and report on programme data (e.g., Excel, grant software, SharePoint).
  • Desirable: Familiarity with the education, youth, or charitable sectors, and working knowledge of action planning tool “Monday”.
