Additional Learning Support Job Coach

Chichester College Group has an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Additional Learning Support Job Coach based in Crawley??????. You will join us on a part time, term time only basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary pro rata of £25,783 to £26,972 per annum (i.e. £12,851.83 - £13,444.50), plus pro rata of £610 Crawley Weighting Allowance (i.e. £304).

The Additional Learning Support Job Coach Role:

Are you looking for a part time, term time only role that enables you make a real difference to learners’ lives?

The Additional Learning Support team provides advice and support to learners with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to overcome barriers to work and progress into paid employment through our Supported Internship programmes.

As our Additional Learning Support Job Coach, you will provide learners with on-the-job training and support whilst on work placements or in paid employment.

Key Responsibilities of ourAdditional Learning Support Job Coach:

  • Delivering a quality service to enable learners to develop and achieve on our Supported Internship programme.
  • Providing learners with advice and guidance and support them in creating/updating CV’s and with the completion of job application forms etc.
  • Carrying out job search activities with and on behalf of learners.
  • Facilitating pre-planned training sessions for learners.
  • Working intensively with learners on a 1:1 basis without direct supervision, using a variety of techniques to teach the skills necessary to carry out a particular job or task, whilst ensuring approaches used by individual’s maximise their independence and interact with available opportunities.
  • Undertaking contact visits whilst learners are on placement, referring any issues to the Teaching & Learning Manager.
  • Liaising with employers, parents/carers and other relevant people in a professional manner in order to develop effective working relationships and ensure the successful movement of learners into the workplace.
  • Promoting an understanding of equal opportunities, economic disadvantage and disability amongst employers and other employees to ensure the positive acceptance of learners into the workforce, challenging discrimination or prejudice where necessary.

Our ideal Additional Learning Support Job Coach should have the following skills and experience:

  • Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Level 3 subject sector relevant qualification
  • Experience of working with learners with SEND
  • Understanding the ways in which training opportunities are provided and accessed by people
  • The achichbility to communicate to a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
