Salary: Competitive, based on experience - Pro Rata Pay 

Reed Education are working with two primary schools who are seeking Individual Needs Assistants to join their team. The successful candidate will be compassionate, patient, and experienced to support with speech, communication, and behaviour.

?? About the Role

As an INA, you’ll work closely with one or more pupils who require additional support to access learning and flourish socially and emotionally. You’ll be a key part of their journey - building trust, encouraging independence, and celebrating every milestone.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN), especially those with communication and behaviour challenges
  • Working alongside teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored learning plans according to the unique needs of the pupil you are working with
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Creating a safe, engaging and inclusive environment
  • Working closely with parents and professionals to ensure continuity of care and development

?? Literacy Interventions

A key part of this role involves delivering targeted literacy support to help pupils build confidence and essential skills in reading and writing. You’ll work with small groups or one-to-one, using structured phonics programmes and other evidence-based strategies to close learning gaps and foster a love of language.

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Support early reading development, including phonics and decoding
  • Deliver structured literacy interventions with consistency and care
  • Monitor progress and adapt approaches to suit individual needs
  • Celebrate small wins and nurture a growth mindset in every learner

Training will be provided, and you’ll be supported by our experienced literacy lead and SENCO.
