Sales Administrator

Our client is a rapidly expanding importer of products including seasonal, pet and homewares, who now have an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, organised and ambitious candidate to join their team in Rochdale.


Purpose of the role:


They are looking for a highly organised, customer-focused team member to provide sales support for key accounts.


Accountabilities / Responsibilities:


  • Provide excellent customer service, manage daily queries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage and support high-value customer accounts.
  • Ensure in-house system is kept up to date with order dates, held stock and back orders.
  • Request and follow up on customer purchase orders.
  • Request and send customer samples where needed.
  • Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure efficient and timely customer deliveries
  • Provide the required information to supply chain when dealing with customer specific / bespoke orders.
  • Confidently process orders, checking pricing against quotes, as well as preparing customer quotations.
  • Attend customer internal meetings, taking comprehensive and detailed notes.
  • Consult with stock control to ensure orders are picked and sent out as and when required.
  • Monitor and obtain customer stock forecasts, liaising with relevant departments.


Knowledge / Skills / Experience:


  • Experience of working in a similar role is essential.
  • Computer literate with proficient knowledge of excel.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are key to this role as there will be a requirement to liaise with customers on the telephone.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy at all times.
  • Ability to prioritise work efficiently and work to agreed timescales in an organised manner.
  • A self-starter that enjoys operating at a fast pace and enjoys working under pressure.
  • Important to have a can-do attitude and a drive to consistently improve ways of working - if there is a better way, find it and implement it.
  • Comfortable working off own initiative with the ability to manage and develop own workload.
