Annual Salary: £40,000–£45,000 + pro rata
Location: Near Great Blakenham
Job Type: Part-time (25 hours per week)
Working Arrangement: Fully office-based
We are seeking a Part time Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of a successful and well-established business. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive individual with strong experience in financial management, including Management Accounts, VAT, and Year-End processes. The successful candidate will report directly to the company’s Directors and oversea one member of staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce monthly Management Accounts, including reconciliation to the costing system
- Reconcile Trial Balance and control accounts (VAT, PAYE, CIS, Wages, Sales & Purchase Ledger)
- Prepare annual budgets and update monthly forecasts
- Monitor and reconcile bank accounts
- Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns
- Reconcile and process PAYE/NIC and CIS tax payments
- Manage weekly and monthly payroll, including statutory returns (FPS, EPS, P60, P11D, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with pension and auto-enrolment legislation
- Oversee credit control and ensure timely payments
- Process subcontractor ledger including applications, certificates, and retentions
- Manage cash book and purchase ledger
- Supervise x1 Accounts Clerk
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, or similar role
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software
- Proficiency in Office 365, especially Excel
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of the construction industry would be an advantage - but not essential.
