We are seeking a Part-Time Accounts Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of a successful and well-established business. This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive individual with strong experience in accounting, including Management Accounts, VAT, and Year-End processes. The successful candidate will report directly to the company’s Directors and manage one member of staff.

Key Responsibilities:
Produce monthly Management Accounts, including reconciliation to the costing system
Reconcile Trial Balance and control accounts (VAT, PAYE, CIS, Wages, Sales & Purchase Ledger)
Prepare annual budgets and update monthly forecasts
Monitor and reconcile bank accounts
Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns
Reconcile and process PAYE/NIC and CIS tax payments
Manage weekly and monthly payroll, including statutory returns (FPS, EPS, P60, P11D, etc.)
Ensure compliance with pension and auto-enrolment legislation
Oversee credit control and ensure timely payments
Process subcontractor ledger including applications, certificates, and retentions
Manage cash book and purchase ledger
Supervise one Accounts Clerk
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Accounts Manager, Management Accountant, or similar role
Strong working knowledge of accounting software
Proficiency in Office 365, especially Excel
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Knowledge of the construction industry would be an advantage (but not essential)
