About Us We are working with a well-established and growing regional accountancy firm known for its client-focused approach and award-winning workplace culture. With a strong presence across the South West, the Business Advisory team in Exeter is now looking for a Supervising Senior to take on a varied and hands-on role supporting a wide portfolio of clients.
You’ll be involved in the preparation and review of year-end and management accounts, tax returns, and VAT submissions, while also providing commercial insight and mentoring junior team members. Whether you're fully qualified or progressing through your exams, this role offers autonomy, progression, and the opportunity to make a real impact.
Responsibilities - Prepare and review complex year-end accounts and management accounts for a diverse range of businesses
- Draft and review corporate and personal tax computations, as well as VAT returns
- Oversee and review bookkeeping and forecast preparation for clients
- Identify opportunities for financial, tax, and commercial planning
- Support managers with client queries and provide a key point of contact
- Train, supervise, and mentor junior team members, contributing to their development
- Maintain strong, professional client relationships, ensuring high levels of service
- Work with cloud-based accounting platforms and advanced Excel tools
- Collaborate across departments to deliver comprehensive business advisory services
- Contribute to business development initiatives and internal networking activities
Requirements - AAT, ACCA, or ACA qualified (or part-qualified with relevant experience)
- Background in a public practice environment with proven client-facing experience
- Strong knowledge of cloud accounting and practice management software
- Highly competent with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and other standard business tools
- Confident in managing your own workload and overseeing others
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
- Calm under pressure, with a professional and team-oriented approach
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
