About Us We’re working with a highly respected regional accountancy firm, recognised nationally as a Great Place to Work, to recruit a Personal Tax Assistant Manager into their growing Bristol office.
With a strong track record of supporting high-net-worth individuals, property landlords, business owners, and private clients, this firm offers an excellent opportunity to build your advisory experience within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
This role is ideal for someone stepping up from a Personal Tax Senior or Executive position—or an existing Assistant Manager ready to take on more complex work, more client exposure, and a clear path to management and beyond.
Responsibilities - Provide a mix of tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse private client portfolio including HNWIs, landlords, and business owners
- Advise on a wide range of employment tax issues, including:
- Benefit and reward packages
- Share incentive schemes
- CIS and NMW queries
- Employment tax matters in M&A transactions
- Assist with capital tax planning, inheritance tax, and property tax advisory
- Contribute to international tax matters affecting individuals and their businesses
- Supervise and review personal tax returns prepared by junior team members
- Mentor and develop trainees, supporting their technical and professional growth
- Collaborate with other departments (corporate tax, financial planning, payroll) to deliver integrated advice
- Build long-term client relationships and act as a trusted advisor
- Support senior managers and directors in delivering larger advisory projects
Requirements - CTA or ATT qualified (or equivalent), with experience in a personal tax or private client environment
- Solid understanding of employment tax, personal tax compliance, and advisory work
- Excellent client service and communication skills
- Strong organisational and project management capabilities
- Proven experience supporting or managing junior team members
- Confident, collaborative, and proactive approach
- Familiarity with tax software and cloud-based accounting tools
