Role Responsibilities
As an Associate / Senior Associate, you will:
- Provide expert legal guidance on social housing governance, charity law, and regulatory compliance
- Advise clients on mergers, land disposals, and charitable obligations
- Support clients with policy, procedure, and compliance under the Charities Act, Companies Act, and other relevant legislation
- Handle a varied caseload, ensuring matters are managed efficiently and clients are kept informed
- Represent clients in County Court hearings and other proceedings
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to staff development
- Stay up to date with legislative changes and sector developments, applying them to client work
- Contribute to the growth and strategic direction of the practice
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Solid experience in social housing, governance, and charity law
- Excellent knowledge of regulatory compliance and sector best practices
- Strong ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical advice
- Experience in mentoring, managing, or supervising staff
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage a profitable caseload
- Proven advocacy skills in County Court proceedings
- A proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach with excellent organisational skills
