Sheridan Maine is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, an established business based in Poole, who are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join their Finance Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with solid experience who is now seeking flexibility in their working. The role is offered on a part-time basis (20-25 hours per week) and would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on whilst also contributing at a strategic level.
The role:
Preparing financial statements, reports, and records in line with accounting standards
Preparing the monthly management accounts pack and providing commentary on performance
Overseeing the payroll process to ensure staff are paid accurately and on time
Using NetSuite software for financial management and reporting
Managing accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
Carrying out financial analysis to support business decision-making
Managing the budgeting process and monitoring actuals against forecasts
Mentoring and supporting junior members of the finance team
Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and supporting external audits
Partnering with other departments to provide insight into financial performance and efficiency
The candidate:
Previous experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar finance role
Hands-on experience with NetSuite software is essential
Strong knowledge of financial management and accounting principles
Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
Well-organised, with the ability to manage a varied workload
Experience mentoring or training junior colleagues is desirable
