This is a vibrant and inclusive special school for boys aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Student Support Assistant to join our committed team.

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant/Student Support Staff member, you’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils to engage with learning and thrive. No two days are ever the same – it’s a role where patience, positivity and resilience make all the difference.

• Work closely with teachers to support whole-class learning
• Provide one-to-one or small-group support to pupils who need extra help
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students
• Help manage behaviour positively, with full training provided (including Therapeutic Thinking)
• Support pupils’ social and emotional development as well as their academic learning

• Caring, patient and resilient, with a good sense of humour
• Able to remain positive when faced with challenges
• Flexible and adaptable to the needs of the day
• Experienced in working with children or young people (school experience is a bonus but not essential)
• Keen to develop new skills – full training and support will be provided
