Qualified Plumber
We have a new opportunity for a qualified and experienced and plumber to work across our portfolio of care homes and Supported Housing properties in South London. We are a private care home and Supported Housing provider established for over 30 years.
As a member of the wider Maintenance Team you will be required to deliver an exceptional customer service experience to our residents covering a range of plumbing and heating engineer works. A large proportion of our plumbing and maintenance works are responding to reported issues quickly to assess the situation and provide a solution.
What you can expect:
Hours: Monday to Friday - 8am to 5pm
Salary: £38,640
The opportunity to increase earnings for emergency call outs required out of hours, as this is a 24 hour service.
Responsibilities of the Plumber role:
To meet the needs and expectations of our residents, keeping the premises maintained to a high standard of repair and presentation throughout by:
- Undertaking planned and responsive plumbing and general maintenance and improvement works – fixing taps, showers, ball valves, gate valves and stop cocks.
- Heating and hot water maintenance – checking 2 ports, 3 ports, mixing valves, heating and HWS pumps, CWS tanks, TRV’s and radiators.
- Trouble shoot heating and hot water systems (replace pumps, blending valves, zone valves)
- Fault finding and leak investigations (drainage issues, chlorinate water tanks)
- Repair boilers and heating controls
- Heating and hot water pipework – installing/replacing new pipework, fixing leaks and draining down and refilling systems on hot and cold.
- Work in partnership with the maintenance team
About you:
- You must be able to achieve the highest standard of customer service, be able to work under pressure, possess a flexible approach and be prepared to travel around the portfolio throughout South London.
- NVQ Level 3 in Heating and Plumbing/ hot water cylinders or equivalent is essential as well as 2 years’ experience.
- Any experience on commercial boilers will be a huge advantage
- Your own basic plumbing tools
- Gas Safety Registered – Desirable
- Flexible to travel
- Full UK driving licence and car/van is required – mileage and expenses will be re-imbursed.
- You will be required to complete a criminal record check (DBS check) which is a standard part of our recruitment procedure for working with vulnerable adults.
