JOB ROLE: Payroll Administrator

REPORTING TO: Business Manager

JOB TYPE: Permanent/Part-time (20 hours negotiable)

SALARY: £12,698.40 - £13,520.00 *Depending on experience

LOCATION: Harrow

Job Purpose

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payroll. This role requires attention to detail, understanding of payroll laws and regulations, and the ability to handle confidential information. The Payroll Administrator works closely with HR and Finance departments to ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and in compliance with relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for collating time-sheet information from all the departments.
  • Responsible for collating all payroll-related information throughout the month.
  • Preparing the time data for input into the payroll system.
  • Inputting data into the payroll system.
  • Producing the required reports from the payroll system for the Finance team/ directors.
  • Producing the payroll files to be uploaded to the Bank for payments.
  • Manage communications/queries with HMRC and other such agencies.
  • Advise staff on statutory rights, e.g. SSP, Maternity / Paternity pay, NMW, etc.
  • Handle all aspects of the payroll queries.
  • Attend internal and external audits as required.
  • Undertake annual audit to ensure the Staff Terms & Conditions, Employee Handbook and Payroll are aligned.
  • Update the HR system and employee files with Payroll-related information, e.g. sick notes, long-term absence, deductions, etc.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar payroll role.
  • Solid understanding of payroll regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Excel, ADP, MS, Sage, QuickBooks, Bright-HR, etc.)
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with spreadsheets and databases.
  • Excellent numerical ability and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

  • Based at the Harrow office (with hybrid options available).
  • Standard working hours with occasional overtime during year-end or payroll peaks
