What you'll do:

As a Real Estate Regeneration Associate based in Birmingham, you will play an integral role within a large multidisciplinary team focused on delivering transformative housing development and regeneration projects.

Your day-to-day activities will involve providing insightful legal counsel on complex schemes that shape communities across the UK. You will be entrusted with managing intricate transactions involving land acquisition and property development while collaborating with experts from various disciplines to offer holistic solutions.

  • Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of residential development and housing-led regeneration schemes for both public and private sector clients.
  • Manage complex land acquisitions, disposals, exchanges, overage arrangements, building licences, development agreements, and development management agreements.
  • Support institutional investment transactions in the residential sector by overseeing investor acquisitions and disposals of residential portfolios.
  • Structure joint ventures in collaboration with corporate and tax colleagues to facilitate successful regeneration projects.
  • Advise on procurement processes and public subsidy matters with input from public law specialists where required.
  • Conduct thorough title due diligence to ensure compliance and mitigate risks associated with property development.

What you bring:

  • At least 3-4 years' post qualification experience in real estate law or related fields such as commercial property or development is essential for success in this role.
  • Proven ability to advise on residential development schemes including acquisitions, disposals, overage arrangements, building licences, development agreements, and management agreements.
  • Demonstrated experience handling institutional investment transactions within the residential sector including investor portfolio acquisitions/disposals.
  • Strong understanding of joint venture structuring supported by corporate/tax expertise is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and public subsidy issues relevant to regeneration projects is advantageous.
