Job Title: Senior Specialist Speech & Language Therapist

Location: York

Hours: 28 hours per week

Salary: £47,810 - £54,710 Full-Time Equivalent (DOE)

As a Senior Specialist Speech & Language Therapist based in York, you will provide expert clinical leadership and specialist therapy for adults with acquired brain injury and neurological conditions. You will deliver complex assessments, interventions, and support service development to enhance communication, swallowing, and cognitive rehabilitation outcomes within a multidisciplinary team.

• Lead on complex speech, language, communication, and swallowing assessments and interventions
• Develop, implement, and review person-centred therapy programmes
• Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and professional development support to junior therapists and assistants
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external partners to ensure coordinated care
• Contribute to service evaluation, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain high standards of clinical documentation and governance
• Promote best practice and support continuous professional development within the team

Essential:

• Degree in Speech & Language Therapy
• HCPC registration
• Significant post-qualification experience, preferably in neurorehabilitation or acquired brain injury
• Proven clinical leadership and mentoring skills
• Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making abilities
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
