Christ’s Hospital (CH) epitomises the transformative power of education. Situated on a majestic campus in 1,200 acres of rolling Sussex countryside, but with close ongoing links with the City of London, the School offers a first-class independent boarding education to children with academic potential from all backgrounds.
We are recruiting for a Day Matron to join us from January 2026 to help look after approximately 70 girls and boys aged 17 and 18 years old, within the sixth form boarding house. Sixth formers (called Grecians) are encouraged to become more independent and responsible as part of the transition from student life to life outside of school.
Duties include pastoral care responsibilities; administrative tasks, the control and issue of proprietary medications and pupils’ EpiPens etc., the organisation of pupils’ laundry and household linen as well as repairing uniforms.
Sensitivity to the needs of young people, good organisational skills, flexibility and the ability to work with others are essential to carry out this important role.
This role is part of a job-share arrangement and operates mainly in term time although you will also be required to work up to 3 additional days before the start and after the end of each term. The pro rata salary is £16,598 per annum.
