SALARY: £24,242 FTE (Actual starting salary for part-time hours £9,696 per annum) + Benefits

LOCATION: Exeter, Devon, South West

JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 15 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday, between 9am – 5pm


PLEASE NOTE: Full UK driving licence and access to own transport is essential

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Support Worker / Secure & Complex Services Advocate to join the organisation’s busy Advocacy team in Exeter. As a Support Worker / Secure & Complex Services Advocate you will empower adults with profound and multiple needs, helping them to express their views and make informed decisions.

In this rewarding position, the Support Worker / Secure & Complex Services Advocate will provide advocacy, advice, and guidance, ensuring that every individual’s rights and preferences are upheld and respected.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Support Worker / Secure & Complex Services Advocate include:

  • Providing Independent Advocacy: Supporting clients to express their views and make informed decisions
  • Representing Clients: Presenting persuasive verbal and written representations to professionals and services
  • Safeguarding Rights: Ensuring individuals’ rights are respected and upheld within health and social care settings
  • Building Relationships: Working in partnership with service users, families, and professionals
  • Maintaining Records: Managing casework and documentation accurately and confidentially
  • Time Management: Planning and prioritising workload effectively to meet deadlines
  • Travel: Visiting clients across the area; driving licence and own vehicle required


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent communication and active listening skills
  • Proven experience of working with vulnerable adults within health, social care, or voluntary settings
  • Ability to provide persuasive written and verbal representations
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
