  • Hours: 30 hours per week (days/hours negotiable)

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join a finance team. This role is ideal for someone looking to provide high-quality support within a finance department, working closely with the General Manager. It's suited for individuals seeking a long-term position in a supportive, flexible and family-friendly work environment with opportunities for progression and increased responsibility.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Purchase Ledger: Input and maintain supplier information on Sage/Xero, manage authorisation of payments by Senior Management, prepare weekly payment runs for review and send monthly remittances.
  • Sales Ledger: Input and maintain customer information on Sage/Xero, raise sales invoices and credit notes for all departments in accordance with deadlines.
  • Petty Cash: Handle banking of cash and cheques, conduct monthly petty cash counts and reconciliations for review.
  • Credit Control: Manage credit control in accordance with policy, including chasing outstanding debts and monthly debtor reporting.
  • Reporting: Responsible for monthly income and recharge reporting for review.
  • Bank Transactions: Monitor, process & approve daily bank transactions and regularly reconcile all bank accounts.
  • General Support: Assist with finance-related queries, filing, and other finance and administration tasks as appropriate.
  • Accounts Package:  Support the transition of the accounting system from Sage to Xero.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent experience working within a finance department.
  • Proficient in using Xero and Excel.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all areas of accounting and cash flow management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Calm, patient and professional demeanour.
  • Own vehicle required for commute due to location.
