Financial Controller

Location: Ottershaw, Surrey

Salary: £30,000 per annum for 3 days/week (pro-rata to £50,000 full-time). Flexible arrangements considered depending on experience.

We are working with a well-established business in Ottershaw seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee their finance operations and provide strategic guidance to the directors. This is a key role with responsibility across accounting, compliance, payroll, cashflow, and business planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements.
• Manage payroll, HR compliance, and pensions.
• Ensure compliance with taxation, MTD, and employment legislation.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management.
• Manage credit control and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Maintain and improve back-office systems and financial processes.
• Provide financial insight and support strategic decisions with directors.
• Act as main contact for auditors, banks, and financial partners.

Skills & Attributes:

• Solid experience in payroll, HR compliance, and accounting.
• Knowledge of digital taxation (MTD) and company/director tax obligations.
• Strong financial reporting, analytical skills, and commercial awareness.
• Credit control and cashflow management experience.
• Proficient in financial software, back-office systems, and IT tools.
• Integrity, attention to detail, and ability to advise directors.
