Contract Type: 32.5 hours per week
Reporting to: Building Manager

Are you a hands-on, proactive individual with a passion for maintaining safe, welcoming environments? A wonderful School is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Caretaker to join their facilities team.

Working Hours

• Term Time: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm – 8:30pm
• Non-Term Time: Monday to Friday, 12:00pm – 6:30pm
• Occasional evening/weekend overtime may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Caretaking & Maintenance

• Perform general maintenance tasks including repairs, painting, and basic plumbing.
• Maintain gardens and grounds.
• Conduct building inspections and log checks.
• Support with furniture moves and room setups.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and consumables.
• Ensure vending machines and water dispensers are operational.

Security

• Lock and secure the building, including alarm systems.
• Conduct regular security patrols.
• Act as an out-of-hours key-holder when needed.

Front of House & Hire Support

• Welcome and assist visitors and site hirers.
• Maintain reception and foyer areas.

Deliveries 

• Manage deliveries and ensure correct storage.

Health & Safety

• Act as a First Aider and Fire Warden.
• Log accidents and report risks.
• Promote and uphold Health & Safety standards.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years in a similar caretaking or maintenance role.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Computer literate

Qualifications

• First Aid trained or willing to train.
• SIA license holder or willing to obtain.
