School Caretaker (Part - time)

Part-Time School Caretaker

Location: Seva Education, Twickenham

Hours: 3.00pm – 6.00pm weekdays

42 weeks per year (Required to work two weeks during the School Summer Holidays and 1 week during the Easter Holidays.)

Salary: £8,190 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Security: Lock school premises daily, monitor access, and ensure buildings are secure.
  • Maintenance: Carry out minor repairs (e.g., changing light bulbs, fixing door handles, key cutting), painting and decoration, assemble flat pack furniture, report major issues to contractors or management. Liaise with contractors. Work three weeks during school holiday times to ensure that school is ready for re-opening.
  • Cleaning Support: Assist with emergency cleaning tasks and ensure communal areas are tidy.
  • Groundskeeping: Maintain outdoor areas, including litter picking, basic gardening, leaf blowing and gritting paths in winter.
  • Health & Safety: Conduct routine checks (e.g., fire alarms, emergency lighting, water), ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Deliveries & Supplies: Receive deliveries, move furniture, and manage stock of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  • Event Setup: Prepare rooms and equipment for school events, meetings, or assemblies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a caretaker, facilities, or maintenance role (preferred but not essential)
  • Basic DIY skills and understanding of health & safety procedures
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
