Team / division overview

DWS Alternatives is the EUR 110 billion global alternative investment management business within DWS, which includes the Infrastructure, Real Estate, Private Equity, Alternative Credit and Liquid Real Assets business lines.

DWS' infrastructure business has a heritage stretching back over 25-years, first established in 1994 as NSW State Super (a large Australian pension fund) sought to create an infrastructure investment portfolio through direct investments and funds. This business became RREEF Infrastructure in 2004, which has since become a core part of the asset management business that is today DWS Group. DWS's infrastructure investment business has approx. EUR 20 billion of AuM across both direct investment (infrastructure equity and debt) and listed infrastructure securities.

Role Details:

This role sits with the Infrastructure private equity investment team and is responsible for managing administrative and operational processes related to transactions activity (acquisitions and sales of portfolio companies). You will be responsible for:

  • Liaising between external counterparties and DWS' AML / KYC team to obtain correct documentation so that DWS' AML/KYC team may conduct due diligence on vendors.
  • Obtaining correct documentation from internal stakeholders so that external counterparties can conduct AML/KYC due diligence on DWS and DWS managed funds (and related structures)
  • On-boarding of vendors and gathering of relevant information to assist relevant teams in approving use of external advisors / vendors
  • Assisting with internal administrative processes such as conflict clearing of transactions and wall-crossing / record keeping for transactions where material non-public information exists.
  • Assess vendor risk profiles and escalate any high-risk findings to the appropriate internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with conflict clearing of external vendors (in particular of auditors)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of due diligence checks and supporting documentation.
  • Onboard fund vendors through DWS' proprietary vendor management system.
  • Prepare and maintain AML/KYC packs required by third parties on funds managed by the European infrastructure investment business.
  • Maintaining a list of vendors in use and track spend.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Compliance, Procurement, and Legal, to manage vendor risk effectively.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance of internal controls and processes related to transactions
  • Assist with other transaction related administrative tasks
  • Stay informed on regulatory developments and industry best practices related to financial crime compliance.
We are looking for:
  • Experience (preferred but not necessary) in either of the following: AML, KYC, financial crime compliance, or risk management, fund operations, fund administration, corporate secretarial functions, or corporate administrative functions, preferably within financial services or asset management
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks within deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Willigness to learn to use internal IT tools used for managing administrative processes
  • If not already familiar with, willingness to learn about fund administration, fund and company legal structures and governance procedures
