Head of Core Claims
The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced and strategic claims leader to shape and drive the Core Claims function in alignment with our broader business objectives. This pivotal role will be responsible for developing and implementing effective claims strategies, processes, and quality assurance frameworks that enhance performance, ensure compliance, and support profitability. With a strong focus on collaboration, leadership, and continuous improvement, the successful candidate will play a key role in aligning claims operations with underwriting and business functions, while also representing the organisation externally to strengthen our market presence.
Your New Role:
- Develop and communicate a Core Claims strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
- Design and implement processes and procedures that support claims performance and profitability.
- Forecast claims activity using business insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Monitor claims service performance to ensure cost control and predictability.
- Align the Core Claims function with underwriting and other business areas to enhance collaboration and outcomes.
- Maintain a robust Claims Quality Assurance system to ensure process integrity and compliance.
- Build strong internal and external relationships to support business growth and client retention.
- Lead and develop the Core Claims team, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous professional development.
- Ensure compliance with reserving and claims handling philosophies, regulatory requirements, and reinsurer expectations.
- Represent the business externally, providing technical expertise and enhancing QBE’s market profile.
About You:
- Strategic and operational expertise in claims management, with a proven ability to align claims functions to broader business objectives.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing claims processes that enhance performance, ensure compliance, and drive profitability.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and forecasting to support informed decision-making and cost predictability.
- Proven track record of building effective cross-functional relationships, particularly with underwriting and business teams, to improve service delivery.
- Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the capability to represent the business externally and influence at senior levels.
