Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting located in Barnsley.

This site caters for students aged 11–19 with a range of complex needs, primarily Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The ideal candidate will have experience working with children or young adults with ASD, either in an educational or care setting, and be committed to making a meaningful difference in their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with ASD and associated needs.
  • Assist in the delivery of individualised learning programmes.
  • Support students with communication difficulties; experience with PECS, Makaton, or other non-verbal communication methods is highly beneficial.
  • Be willing to assist with personal care when required.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting individuals with ASD in education or care.
  • Confidence in working with non-verbal students.
  • Willingness to undertake personal care duties.
  • A current and valid DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Availability to start as soon as possible.

Reed £95.00 - £100.00 per day Barnsley
